The authorization to launch an ISP and offer internet connectivity to consumers or companies is known as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) License.

ISP license, which is the authorization to form an internet service provider and offer internet services.

A business that offers clients access to the Internet is known as an Internet service provider, or ISP. Numerous technologies are used to transfer data, including wireless, high-speed interconnectors, DSL, cable modems, and dial-up. It's not as simple as it seems to launch an ISP. But it's also not insurmountable if you have the right strategy and tools.

The largest obstacle to launching an ISP in India is the substantial upfront costs associated with infrastructure, equipment, and licensing. Resources such as power supplies, cooling systems for equipment, and internet network bandwidth must all be carefully designed and implemented.

ISP is a modern day’s service and business opportunity.

The government of India has introduced a unified licence in the telecom industry. The holder of unified licence is eligible to apply for ISP licence for different areas. Hence, it is clear that for providing ISP service one has to initially obtain unified licence.

Department of Telecommunications (DOT) is the government authority issuing the Internet Service Provider (ISP) licence. A company registered under Company Act 1956/2013 is qualified in India to obtain an ISP license.
