TRUST / NGO REGISTRATION

An NGO or Non-Governmental Organization is basically a non-profit or not for profit organization which strives to work towards the betterment of the underprivileged sections of Society.

Depending on the type of activity they want to do, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in India can be registered as societies, trusts, or section 8 businesses. An institution or voluntary group that promotes social causes is known as a non-profit organization.

According to the general consensus, NGOs engage in a variety of activities only for the benefit of society as a whole. The NGOs engage in a variety of activities, including as human rights, social, environmental, and advocacy work. NGOs are essential to the growth of society, the betterment of communities, and the encouragement of citizen participation. They also aim to advance social or political change on a larger scale.

An NGO that is registered acquires legal standing and takes responsibility for the money it receives. For example, money given by a person to a charitable trust is accepted in the name of the organization and utilized for the trust's operations. Assets in an unregistered company may be received in anyone's name and utilized for personal gain.

An organization upholding the legal, social, and ethical standards of our society is recognized as an NGO.

An NGO must, in order to function, have a bank account in its name. It is necessary to be registered as a Trust, Society, or Section 8 Company in order to open an account.
